1Royals just resigned Perez, which maybe means they think he holds down the fort until Mitchell (not Jensen) is ready. If that’s the case, then maybe the Royals would consider trading Jensen to the Rays. This trade has the Rays sending Simpson to the Royals for Jensen and a good SP prospect. As a rookie, Simpson hit nearly .300 (.295 to be exact) and stole 44 bags in 109 games. I imagine both those numbers improve in his sophomore year, and the Royals will be glad for the offense. Rays have a similar player in J.Mangum and can afford to trade Simpson for a good catching prospect.
