Blue Jays: Get another starting pitcher and plenty of depth in the catching position to soften the blow of losing Kirk. Marlins: Get a reliver they can put to close, a young short stop pretty much MLB ready, and potentially some minor leaguers who could help in the future. Guardians: Get a catcher who can finally produce offensively, a lot of upside with a SS who has some attitude problems, and a platoon option with Naylor or even a DH option with Cooper. Would love to hear what the other fan bases think of this deal.

Kirk is not Cleveland's type of catcher. There are concerns about whether he will stick at catcher. You also don't bring in an attitude problem to a team like the Guardians. That makes little sense to me.

I think it can be simplified; Karinchak & Rocchio to the Marlins 44.3 Lopez to the Blue Jays 38.7 Kirk to the Guardians 39.3 With a PTBNL from the Marlins (Fulton?)

Interesting trade... while this one is somewhat complex.. the Dajuba response/counter is more likely.. There may be some other considerations.. primarily being the type of players the Marlins like and the Jays seem to acquire.. See the comments/counter in the DaJuba trade (104405)
