1Could make sense for both sides if the Padres need to tighten their budget amidst reports of selling the team. This move would save them $11m+ and bring in a quality SP and C with years of control. Yankees take on their salaries but get a lefty strikeout reliever which they’ve been searching for, a platoon righty catcher to pair with Wells, and a RH 4th OF to come off the bench and give guys rest.
