7Cleveland says no... They aren't trading from their rotation group for Donovan... I could see a parting with Doughty, but not Allen. Plus with Kwan and Cleveland not wanting to block 2B, where would Donovan play?
I think they will part ways with Allen. He’s been a SP for the last couple of years and still not showing great signs. I think Allen and Arias would be perfect. Think they are done with arias too
Can you tell me what Cleveland's rotation is? It's Bibee, Williams, Cecconi, Messick, Cantillo, Allen, Nikhazy and Peterson... Nikhazy had an elbow injury last season. Cantillo has a history of injury... They have a million AAAA (most that are Rule 5 eligible) types, but they cannot afford to move Allen for a guy whose best positions are LF and 2B, plus the fact Cleveland could be trading Kwan cause he doesnt have long term control. Donovan has the same amount of control... Also, Arias they are going to ride out... He's got half a season, if not he will either be put into the utility role or replaced with Genao... This deal doesn't work for Cleveland. Don't get me wrong, they would take Donovan, just not at the expense of their #6 in the rotation and a very good defensive SS who is plus defensively outside of SS...
Goodness ok! I’m just trying to have some fun! I like it though
Fair enough! I am not as mean as I sound so I apologize! Nothing wrong with having fun! I personally don't think Donovan is a target for Cleveland if they have to give someone in their rotation/26 man roster in a sense. He would be acquired to add to those guys. Cleveland's manager has done nothing but go out of his way to praise Arias, so I don't think he's anywhere close to be moving on from him. I think Rocchio will be moved first since he cannot play 1B, 3B, RF like Arias can. If both are hitting the same, Rocchio is gone for Bazzana while Arias moves to the bench to join Schneemann
Gotcha! We’ll see what happens. I appreciate the input! I hope we just spend a little bit more money then we have in the past… wishful thinking….
Spending money doesn't mean wins (aka Mets, Angels etc) Wins happens when you put a good team together. Problem is when you have more teams going for the playoffs, it make FA more expensive and makes it harder to make trades to get the Andrew Miller type of deal that Cleveland needs to do. Donovan is a good player, but he's not an Andrew Miller type that Cleveland needs.
