Can anyone explain were Donovan would play in Cleveland... LF is taken and 2B won't be available for him unless its part time. 3B is also taken and Cleveland has a very good utility man in Schneemann... CF is the only open spot and Donovan has never played CF in the bigs... Also, Cleveland cannot afford to trade Allen. I don't care what BigBat says, Cleveland's SP depth is not very deep...

If you don't think the Guardians would trade Logan Allen in a deal for Donovan you are out of your mind

Tell me what the Guardians rotation is and where Donovan would play... Maybe let's start with that one...

Donovan can play 2nd, Bazzana could shift to RF. Don't think he can play CF. Heck, even Donovan could play RF. The Guardians have demonstrated that they are prioritizing offense over defense over the last couple of years or so. Williams Bibee Cecconi Messick Cantillo and they'll likely sign a few starters to MiLB deals. One always pans out. The Guardians can NOT trot out an offense like that again. At the same time, Donovan needs to be their last resort regardless. Been saying it for years but they need an OF bat that can hit lefties well "Logan Allen" cannot prevent you from swinging a trade like this. I'm sorry. I'd trust them more to figure out pitching depth with a loss of Allen than I would scrambling internally to find a solution offensively

I can tell you this... Bazzana cannot play RF, he doesn't have the arm for it... Also Cleveland has has not had Bazzana taking reps in the OF, as far as public scouting goes... (Which is almost non-existent) its a 99.99% chance Bazzana is staying at 2B... He's not being moved... When it comes to RF... They have Jones and Noel who are out of options, they also have Valera, Kayfus etc... RF is a position they stated they will not block... Kwan is in LF still... Donovan doesn't have a place... Now, looking at Cleveland's rotation... Cantillo, is known to be injury prone... Nikhazy missed time with an elbow injury last season... Thats two of their projected 8... Teams need to be about 10 deep and Cleveland is 8 with a million AAAA and/or just hit AA... I am not saying they won't move Allen, but they cannot move Allen, for a solid LH bat, who plays in blocked positions... They also don't need an utility Left hand since Schneemann is a superior all around defender than Donovan. Cleveland would have to make another deal to merit this one, and if they trade Kwan, its cause it's a haul and amount of team control. Donovan has the same amount of team control. They will put Brito or someone in LF, and wait til the trade deadline to make a move for a guy like Donovan.

They aren't swinging a trade without including a starter in a package, so what move do they make in your eyes then? Just run it back again? That's what it sounds like

I think they could, but it has to be the right player... CF is the spot they really want someone... Donovan plays positions that they don't need a player in is the biggest issue. Plus they need someone who can hit lefties... Donovan doesn't hit lefties well... Allen is available if they get back a need and Donovan isn't a need but a want.
