That’s totally fair, I honestly don’t want the reds to trade Greene either. The only teams that have pieces that make sense are the A’s, Padres, and Giants and I don’t think any of the mentioned teams will likely be willing to pay the price that would require to get Greene. I looked at the Mets and O’s but I don’t think they have the pieces that make sense. I really hope the Reds come to their senses and don’t try and trade Greene.
I don't get why the Reds would trade Greene. Singer looks like the more obvious candidate.
He is by far the most obvious candidate but he also will get you back much less than with Greene. I notice you give thumbs down to most trades involving the A's. Guess you are a fan. Good to know they don't want to break up their starting lineup. If all they are looking for is a middle of the road pitcher then Singer would be your man. :-)
I try to give the reason for the thumbs down. I've rejected a fair number of Soderstrom deals that didn't include any high-ceiling pitching because why would the A's trade Soderstrom and NOT address their #1 weakness? The A's do need another SP and Singer is the type of guy they can afford; in prospects and in salary.
