I can't argue with your comments. I agree. BUT No FA''s pitchers are going to want to play there till Las Vegas is settled. Anybody that swings a bat for a living will. Which is why I think this a fair trade for both teams. Adels pitching l suffer in Sacramento and so will Soderstrom's DPS at Target field. It should even out and be a good baseball trade for both teams
I like to believe it's more than my fandom that makes me think Soderstrom's suffering at Target Field would be far more productive than Abel's in Sacramento; 2024 ended my favorable opinion of Abel. I think the A's are well positioned, both in payroll and prospects, to acquire a SP like Singer or Bubic. Or maybe an arm from Pittsburgh if they're feeling frisky for more young, unproven bats. And some FA will be on the outside looking in during the winter and the A's might have another over-pay in them. Severino got held up by the QO... maybe Michael King will find himself in a similar situation? 2 years/$50 MM with an opt-out after 2026...???
