What are you talking about? Good defense and solid hit tool shown by his metrics https://prospectsavant.com/player/695670, but is clearly blocked, and the Nats just so happen to be lacking high upside catching, which can't be said for many other teams that can send back someone of value. If anything, this shows the Mariners see a guy with monster velo/stuff and multiple years of control, who could be a better option than Bazardo who blew it in the ALCS.
There's a pretty big difference from AAA to MLB but still I didn't say he was bad I said he was overrated specifically in mock trades that have him headlining star trades. I think we see his real value here. Ferrer isn't a bad piece but he's not a great piece either although I would up the value slightly because of the park he's going to. Could be a back of the bullpen arm could be Genesis Cabrera.
