1My guess is Jonah Tong will be the sticking point for the Mets. Does it matter that they're saving nearly $5 MM in this trade? I don't understand why they seem so focused on getting a vet SP on a short term contract. The Padres get a lot of cheap pitching that is or is close to MLB-ready. The A's get their 2026 starting 2B and a potential mid-rotation workhorse.
