💁🏼♀️ Very nice pitching prospect package for the Cardinals with another SP ready to compete for a Major League job and salary relief for the club. Red Sox with a major overpay but they get a much needed RH Bat, just not the Power Bat they’ve been hoping to acquire. Here’s to hoping the edge of that inevitable cliff is two years away. Dobbins was at least 7 deep in SP depth and most likely on an innings limit for the ‘26 season but he definitely would have gotten looks in Boston if needed and he still has 2 options. 🤔🎄

The RS had to over pay for Contreras. 1. Right-handed with decent power 2. Good fielder. They had few remaining options other than Okamoto. Did he turn them down because of the travel distance?

I really don’t think it changes anything for him. He still needs to continue working his way back from his Achilles injury and then get ready to compete for a job at the Major League level. He has 3 options and turns 26yr in January. No big rush to do anything with him but wait. And be open to listening to calls about him. I don’t believe they’ll be shopping him.
