1This Marte trade nonsense to the Rays just won’t die. D-Backs set a very high price for Marte, as they should have, but their rigidity of demanding so much pitching might have cost them trade partners. Rays are out. Red Sox appear to be out. Mets are said to still be interested but they’ll probably need help from a 3rd team to assemble the necessary pitching. Anyway, Rays aren’t interested in Marte now that they’ve gone full rebuild, and even if they were this trade doesn’t have enough pitching to satisfy the D-Backs.
