2Alt. reality scenario where John Fisher makes like Ebenezer Scrooge on Dec. 23... Fisher got a call from his accountants and when they told him how much he's going to being paying his team in 2026 he demanded that his Front Office trade everyone making a million or more on salary. Forst objected and got fired for his troubles so we're trying to make the best of a very bad sitation. The A's can't send cash and they can't take back a 7 figure salary. The A's have 9 players they need to move, and move them quickly. BAH HUMBUG!!!
The Mets are supposed to be looking for a short term innings eater and Springs is on a 1 year deal with a club option for 2027. 30 GS and 171 IP should help stabilize the Mets rotation. They also take Wynns because the cost to them is the backup Catcher they claimed off waivers two weeks ago.
