With LA's top OF prospects probably 2 years away from the bigs, Simpson allows LA to move Edmond to 2B. Rays get a power hitting INF and Ko can play OF.
I would probably do this trade if I were the Rays. While I’m a fan of Simpson and expect a 2+ fWAR season out of him in 2026, the Rays simply have too many lefty outfielders. Plus, they are building for a window that opens in 2027-28. It doesn’t matter much what happens in 2026.
