1I like this a lot from Red Sox side. Marte is a better bat than Duran, and with Red Sox current roster construction, either Duran or Anthony would be DH, or Rafaela would be at 2B - meaning we can't even capture the full defensive potential of those three players. Some risk with Marte being older, could decline, and already plays fewer games per season than Duran. But this is the bat the Red Sox seek. Could also be more palatable to front office given lower AAV (and overall guaranteed $) compared to a Bregman signing. Campbell - would love to see him develop with the Sox this year and regain his value, perhaps even contribute to the major league team, but if he enables you to get a top 10 position player now...hard to turn that down.
