Rays would have to really see something in Mathews (who may have been exposed in AAA) and believe Hence’s injury issues are behind him to even consider this trade. I would pass personally. Pages is an all defense catcher, which the Rays admittedly love, but the smarter play would be to trade for him separately with 2-3 less valuable prospects.
