1Yankees are clearly trying to obtain a cheap SP to fit into their budget. Ryan would fit that bill making only ~$5.8m this year, and including Jackson (a RH C) in return as well for another ~$1.8m would make sense to continue to keep costs low. The package for the Twins IMO is already a steep price and would possibly even need another player added. Twins would be getting the Yankees #1, #5, and #8 prospects plus a controllable C who can platoon at times with Jeffers and be a cheap stop gap until some of their younger guys are ready. Lombard is clearly the prize here too and would be tough to give up but the Yankees need to win now with Judge still playing at his peak. The Twins farm system would immediately be at least top 5 in baseball setting them up for the future.
