2Cardinals are inching closer to eating full release $. While these are not eye popping prospects, there are two potential solid bullpen pieces and good minor league starting depth for the cards. If Dbacks strike out on Bergman then Arenado at this price may look more attractive. I don’t think Cards want to replay 2025 Arenado debacle and the optics of an Arenado rebound with another team after a full release would not look good. Keep raising the cash bar, but get a medium to high floor guy with each cash increase.
You have the Cards putting a large amount of cash on the table, I don't know that they make him free for the Snakes this season. I think the plan is more to pay for his extension year ($15M) plus perhaps a sweetener to get something done. Chaim has been adamant, the are NOT going to DFA Nado...ever.
