1With the acquisition of Alex Bregman, Hoerner is a supernumerary. Kelly had a great first half of 2025, but he faded badly in the second half. He's probably the third-best catcher on his team. In return for those two, the Cubs could land a good DH, a super-flexible catcher, and, the coin of the realm, two good young pitchers. If the Red Sox covered Yoshida's salary, this could be a win-win, with the Red Sox finally getting a solid 2B.
