1Padres shed established payroll and get a reduced price 1st base solution. While cardinals are not looking to add significant payroll, the added dollars are still better that releasing Arenado and they get two temporary pieces to help in transition. (Laureno = Austin Hays) They also receive some RH pop for the OF. Adam would be a great mentor for young bullpen, though he may not fully bounce back to form this year.
