1Just running an idea through here: Yankees trade for Donovan to mainly platoon at SS alongside Caballero but also to spell off days for guys like Jazz, McMahon, and even some OF if needed given his versatility. He has played at SS in the past at the ML level and has decent metrics. With this move I'd send off Volpe and probably even Oswaldo for relief pitching help as the bullpen needs work still. This also helps going into next year in case Jazz leaves in FA, as you can slide Donovan over to 2B because by that time Lombard could be ready to take over at SS. For the Cardinals they get a ML ready young controllable SP to fill in your staff and would be part of quickening the rebuild. Lalane also has shown a ton of promise and is the Yankees #9 prospect, while Vilorio is a very young Intl signing from 2024 so still raw at the moment but at least showed he could take the next step by putting up good numbers last year. If this package didn't do it I'd be willing to overpay even more if need be, just unsure what the Cards would want outside of SP.
