1Like my last trade looking to find a platoon partner with Cabellero at SS who makes sense and has versatility to move to 2B or elsewhere once Lombard is ready. Yankees are in win now mode and can no longer wait on Volpe to develop at this rate. This move also makes sense to bring back Higgy as the righty catcher off the bench to spell Wells some days off. The Rangers save some money in this trade which they have reportedly been trying to do this year, and can use Jansen/Escarra as their catching tandem and move Volpe to 2B to compete for that job. If they can unlock Volpes offensive potential that is a home run of a trade IMO and a great up the middle with Seager.
