The Phillies can’t afford to make this trade. Bohm is currently their second-best right-handed bat, and the upgrade from Marsh to Duran isn’t significant. Marsh actually posted a higher OPS and graded similarly defensively, and while Duran is the better baserunner, Marsh was still in the 89th percentile last season. The extra year of control with Duran is really the only appeal, and giving up the two best hitter in this deal doesn’t make sense for a team trying to win now.
