3Rangers solidify 2 positions and get 3 years of team control each for Lewis and Buxton and give up Walcott to do it. Chris Young has always seemed willing to trade prospects to shore up the big league roster.
Walcott seems a little overvalued here and think the Twins would want at least 4-5 prospects, not just one, if they were getting rid of two major league bats
I hear you, but prospects of Walcott's ilk rarely get traded. The Twins have a young, ready-made OF with Gonzalez, Jenkins, and Rodriguez. They also get to dump the money owed to Buxton. If you pair this trade with the other proposal I made of Joe Ryan for Bryce Eldridge and Casey Schmitt, the Twins have a good young OF and prodigious power on the corners in the IF with Walcott and Eldridge.
