1Should the Tigers fall out of the race and have no choice but to sell off Skubal, the Yankees have an interesting option to increase their SP strength to be a full on force to be reckoned with. They have an abundance of SP depth as it is and Warren is the latest in their string of developed starters who can be moved. Skubal would allow for less reliance on the bullpen as he can go deeper into games and avoid some of these mop up duty dudes coming into med-high leverage situations. It also allows for guys like Schmidt and Weathers to move to the pen still and take these less reliable options out of the equation. It's a power move the Yankees of old would make and one that should be highly considered it if came down to it, especially if you can keep him away from other contenders.
