Are you like trolling the Astros? Lol
I thought the trade leaned Rays friendly, but I didn’t think it was awful. Hopkins is a top 100 prospect with like 6 pitches. Guerrero could be developed into a power bat that replaces Alvarez down the road (obviously not equal talent), Areinamo was argued by many Rays fans as a top 5 prospect in a loaded system this offseason, and Morgan could be an elite fielding 1B in the mold of C.Walker. All 4 have warts though, which is why I was willing to trade them. Alvarez has warts too by the way (injury prone and should be just a DH). I also think every major leaguer with control beyond 2026 is potentially going to be subjected to a discount this year to offset the risk of a lost 2027 because of a lockout. I know I wouldn’t pay full value for anyone’s 2027 year of control.
You're talking about a top 5 hitter in baseball though, Hopkins is good part but the other guys are more filler IMO, I think there'd have to be one more high end player to get the conversation started for them, if we got the same package for Diaz we'd be complaining about it lol someone is going to give up 2 top 100 pieces for him
I would be ecstatic to get a similar package for Yandy.
