The structure of the cash back accounts for this. Once 2028 hits, there's going to be a soft or hard salary floor, along with increased revenue sharing. The Reds almost certainly will have to add salary at that point. With the Giants covering '26 and '27, Devers' salary shifting to the Reds at this point can be justified. The real question is how long can he stay at 3b?
