I had the same procedure in my L5 facet joint 19 years ago and it took away the pain and discomfort completely with no other issues since. I had some pretty severe pain before the procedure and no pain since, however my facets continue to deteriorate and arthritis has greatly limited my flexibility, but I am now 65. This condition I was told could very well be hereditary as both my father and grandfather had the same condition. He will know very quickly if this relieves his issues and if it does, he will most likely return to play at previous levels. The medicals will tell the story here.
