Welcome back Shaq! Been awhile. I’d do this trade for the Rays. Not sure I see the Cardinals being willing to part with the pick though.
Is that the pick TB traded to them? If so the pick wouldn't be allowed to be traded again
Darn. I wanted to get back the pick we traded for Williamson, but forgot we traded it to the Cards.
We traded a CB-B pick to the Cardinals.
Thanks man. Life got in the way of baseball for a while, but I hope to be back more. Loving this winning streak. We're going to have to work hard to fill some gaps, because "Yandy, Junior, Aranda, and 6 guys OPSing in the .630 range" isn't an acceptable roster for winning a playoff series.
I'm not a big Nootbaar fan but I'd be really happy with this trade mainly for the extra pick, who do you think TB selects at #2?
I really hope it's not Vahn Lackey. Every C drafted or traded for is just a wasted roster spot. Ciuffo, O'Connor, Betts, Mejia, Hunt...they keep trying to develop a C, and they keep ending promising careers. With Bodine and Flewelling, maybe they finally crack the code, but Roch is MLB ready and Emerson would have the 2nd highest ceiling of any SS we've ever had in the system. I would rather have Roch as pairing Junior and Roch together next year sounds very enticing. But I would be happy with Emerson. I just really, really hope it isn't Lackey. Between robo umps, starting catchers only catching 100 games per year, and the Rays inability to develop catchers, drafting Vahn Lackey feels like drafting a special teams player in the first round of the NFL draft---drafting a very low ceiling at the expense of MVP caliber ceilings.
I was actually wanting Lackey up to a few days ago when they started talking about how much the gap between Roch and Emerson has shrunk to the point they are saying Emerson may go first, I'll be happy with any of the 3 but I think they have to take which ever SS is left.
