One correction - A.Smith looked like a future star before the Rays got ahold of him. They need to set him free before they ruin his career. In all seriousness, I wouldn’t report to the Rays if I was a RHB. Unless they are one of the best bats in baseball (Yandy and Cammy), every single RHB gets ruined by the Rays.
I doubt the Dodgers trade Tibbs anywhere near this valuation. He’s having too good a minor league career to be traded for scraps. I’d also like to see how Santana adapts to AA pitching before trading him. Obviously it could be a disaster but if he keeps progressing at the plate his upside is in fact huge.
Agree, kind of. He's had a great DODGERS career. Prior to that, he was a 1st rd college OF with a defense problem who had incredibly pedestrian numbers. He's not rule 5 eligible for another year, and has 3 options after that. The Dodgers aren't desperate, but I'd need to know how bad his defense is. He had an amazing first 2 weeks...I believe 7 HR in the first 2 weeks, and been pretty meh since. I watched Chandler Simpson in A+ and decided that in 2 years he would be a great CF with a poor arm. I am not the defensive scout I think I am.
