If the Tigers sell and the Rays need to shut down McClanny because of an innings limit after not pitching for more than 2 years, then I think I like this trade a lot. Rays would still have Ras, Pepiot, Jax, Seymour, Martinez (if they pick up his option, which is doubtful), Matz (unfortunately), and prospects like T.Johnson, J.Boyle, B.Hopkins, M.Forret and others for next year (and future years). If McClanny can pitch through October and the price tag on Skubal is extreme, I'd rather see the Rays keep McClanny and pursue Mize at the deadline.
