I’m torn on this trade. I really hate relievers with high WHIPs and Harris has a 1.55 WHIP in 26 and a career average of 1.43. If the Rays believe they can unlock better production from him then who am I to argue, but I wouldn’t want to trade for the player he is today. I’m surprised you included Englert and Alberto in the return. Englert provides important SP depth this year and Alberto is widely seen as a future piece of the Pen with his triple digits FB.
I think that's who the Angels will want return. A strikeout machine with a 60% ground ball rate. I'll hate to lose him, but there's only six or eight relievers that I want to make a run at the postseason, and I'd rather trade our 20th best prospect than our fifth best. I'm not scraping the bottom of the barrel, but I'm looking for relievers whose future is brighter than their past. Yes Harris has a high whip, but most of it is walks. I'm betting we can control that walk rate.
