He's either a strong mid-rotation pitcher or an elite reliever/closer. Either way, he's not getting traded for $5.4 million.
Or... big league lefties beat him into a low-leverage bullpen arm.
He had a bit of a problem with lefties in the low minors two years ago, but not so much in the upper minors. He's used to people doubting him. BA insists he must be a reliever despite the Rays continuing to use him as a SP in AAA and him putting up the best stats among their top pitching prospects.
Maybe he's truly a unicorn. In which case, enjoy his time with the Rays.
