Good point about the lockout. I like Simpson. I think he's a solid two to three win contributor. That makes him a starter, but certainly not a building block. And although he has 5 years of control, we've seen with BJ Upton, Carl Crawford, and Desmond Jennings, you hit 27, and your biggest asset is speed, you decline pretty quickly. So I disagree that his best is ahead of him. He turns 26 this off season, and those legs will get slower and that arm will get weaker in a year, or maybe if he's lucky, two or three. I think the downgrade of Simpson to Melton is minimal.
