Jahmai Jones and Masa Yoshida platoon, Nate Eaton if needed in a pinch. Then of course, Roman Anthony comes back in a month. Duran is a prime example of a guy who needs a change of scenery. I'm convinced he'll thrive somewhere else but he's hurting the Sox right now and he is addition by subtraction

If you include his terrible stint with the Tigers this year, Jones has a WRC+ of 58. Duran is at 59. Masa is at 98. Based on that alone, if you assume Jones doesn't improve at all, his PAs are no worse than Duran's and Masa's PAs will be much better than Duran's. So, you will get more offensive production out of LF. Yes, you lose a little defensively, but offense is the bigger problem for the Red Sox right now and need more production out of that position. With a limited sample size (15 PAs), Jones has a WRC+ of 290 since joining the Red Sox. It obviously won't stay there, but again, change of scenery makes a big difference and Jones had WRC+ of 159 last year over full season. While he probably won't even be at 159, he'll surely be above 58, and probably well above it.
