Because the Rays are smart
You're going to have to walk us through the logic. Rays are smart and would do this deal because.... As I see it, Sheehan is a back of rotation arm entering arbitration, Miller is a total unknown because of health (though his performance pre-injury wasn't great), George has absolutely no power and just a slightly above average hit tool (translation - he's no Chandler Simpson and unlikely to be anything more than a 5th outfielder), and then there's Tibbs, who might be ok. In return the Rays are giving up a good young 2.5 - 3ish fWAR player in 2026 who is just starting to tap his potential (and who I personally expect to see exceed 4 fWAR in his prime) and one of their best international signees in 2026. That's a lot of nothing for a lot of quality in return. I think the Rays say no, but looking forward to your rebuttal.
