Even if you believe in Hess you should never expect a 100% hit-rate when dealing with prospects.
I believe the A's need to add 1 SP next year. Need, not want. Warren is cheap and has been a workhorse and while that combination always has value... he's only produced 0.6 bWAR/3.4 fWAR since the start of 2025. He's a solid back-end SP, not a difference maker. Langeliers has produced 7.4 bWAR/6.8 fWAR in the same span. That's an impact player for any team that trades for him. Jasson Dominguez doesn't make up that difference, nor does Hess IMO, and Kilby is years away with De Vries and Wilson ahead of him at his primary position. Elmer Rodriguez has the stuff the A's have shopped for and I've always liked arms that can get ground balls, which is why I think Gelof/Rodriguez could work out.
