Personally, you could swap out Rojas for something like Santucci and Tong. It's about roughly a wash value wise. 37.4 to 38.0.
I hadn't looked at the Mets arms recently... I don't see anyone that makes me want to send away Langeliers. I realize Christian Scott and Langeliers have nearly identical BTV but I'm old fashioned, I like SP that average more than 5 innings a start. Alvarez/Tong/Santucci puts too much of the value on the Catcher replacement and not enough in the area of need (pitching).
Tong is right at the major league level, as is Santucci, though he doesn't need to be added to the 40 man yet. To me, it's a cheap replacement on catcher (albeit not as productive as Langeliers) and then adding 2 SPs that could factor in the coming year. Saves about 7-8 mil as well, so that seems to be a thing for the A's.
The cost savings angle isn't currently in play, with the A's increasing payroll since the 2024 season as they prepare for Las Vegas. We're in a (perhaps brief) window where the trade focus is on baseball impact. I think Tong and Santucci can offer immediate bulk innings but I question if they're anything more than #4 SP going forward. I believe bulk innings can be found without having to resort to trading Langeliers.
