The Giants are in a roster crunch. McDonald and Whisehunt are expected to miss most/all of 2027 due to elbow surgeries. Houser is coming off a forearm injury as well, although his did not require surgery. The A's offer up an arm that doesn't need to be on the 40 man roster and will make room on their own roster to stash the injured pitchers until the 60 day IL becomes available again next year.
I like the idea, just not the return for the Giants. Taylor doesn’t have much upside for a trade like this. Maybe if the Giants eat 3-4 mil and get Edwards or Gaeckle?
