The Soto trade would be the only real-life analogous trade to use as a template, and this is the closest I can get with Boston. Red Sox get the superstar player and also fill their DH need with a guy whose pull air profile should play well at Fenway (a la SD receiving Soto & Bell). Reds' headliner would be Arias (MLB Pipeline #2; equivalent headliner would be Abrams, #9). Gonzales (#71) would be the analogue of Wood (#88). The Sox don't have a prospect on the level of Hassell (#21), so that's where Wilyer slots in. Gore was a non-top 100 prospect and SD's #4 prospect, which is also exactly the case with Valera. And Susana was SD's #14 prospect, while Phillips slots in at #15 for Boston. The one major difference is in attaching Story's expiring contract to compensate for some differences here (the two top prospects Boston would be sending are higher ranked than their San Diego equivalents, and Wilyer's value is much higher than the contemporary equivalent of a #21ish prospect would be). I feel like that wouldn't be too much of a burden for Cincinnati, as it is only for one year, and he can act as a bridge to Arias in the meantime.

💁🏼‍♀️ You’re mindset is stuck at the ‘26 deadline thinking Boston is still in the market for a SS. 👎 Boston is not even listening on proposals for Arias (or Tolle) they’re just hanging up. ⚾️
