This site cautions that this trade is a total overpay. It is. So what? Downvote this, bro! In this trade, I want the Braves to be trading away Marcel Ozuna, who I think has about a -31 to -32 value right now. This site doesn't yet allow a trade involving Marcel Ozuna so he's just represented as Cash in this trade. I'm thinking that it's a near straight up trade between Heyward and Ozuna. Heyward's contract is 2/$44 and Ozuna is 3/$48. Head-to-head, in a vacuum, I'll take Ozuna at the plate, Heyward in the field, and Ozuna overall, just based on stats. However, for the Braves, I prefer Heyward. I believe all the feels and all the PR will mean $ spent, but this also means Heyward's gotta be like Pablo Sandoval-level popularity with the Braves before the guy went cold and escaped into the Witness Protection Service. So then there's Ian Happ in this trade. For the first part, the Braves send out William Contreras to the Cubs because that's the making of a cool story and William isn't far off. I think Miguel Amaya is further out with TJ and all. I don't see how William Contreras has much more value than he would with the Cubbies. For the second part of getting back Ian Happ the Braves give Kyle Muller who has some MLB experience and could be a middle rotation guy in 2022 and while there's some loss of shininess there's some close serviceable and cost-controlled potential here. Slider is really good, fastball spots well, and changeup is better. For the Cubs, losing Happ requires a pivot as he's bankable to fill in for a couple of positions but there's some depth and options. Gotta give up something to get something and maybe would rather take on upside over Happ's sub-par 2021 and rounding out the roster a bit. For the Braves, Happ's in to play CF or LF, swapping with Adam Duvall as backup. Pache and Waters marinate in AAA. Overall salary's up but this is just how it goes. Ian Happ's Arb- through 2023 and it's on. Freddy Tarnok has a higher upside and that's just the price to pay for the Braves in this deal. Take Tarnok out of the deal and it's closer value as per this site. But I think the Braves still have to come up with some vigorish to make it happen. O'Day's in the trade just because I'm a big fan of Darren O'Day and giving him a shout out. I hope the Braves don't trade him and that he's totally boss in 2022. He had high 80%'s for LOB with BAL and that's pretty awesome. Ozuna for Heyward if also Happ for Muller and Tarnok? That's the TL;DR for the ADD kids.

As a Cubbies fan, I would trade Heyward for Ozuna in a heartbeat, but I’m not sure their front office would. Too corporate. Ozuna brings Addison Russell-type baggage to Windy City. Clinker in the deal for me is William Contreras. What’s this, the Molinas? 4 Cubs catchers. Give me something else. And toss in Wright while you’re at it. He was good at AAA this year. I think Cubs best bet is to resign Contreras, but Hoyer will screw that up and trade him for nothing at mid season.
