Rios wouldn't be a throw-in for LAD -- he's older and had shoulder surgery (worse than TJS) but --he showed too much 3B defense and power as LHP to be casually traded. Possibly, he could still platoon with Turner in 2022. Throw-ins would be Raley/ McKinney/ maybe Reks or Noda who have lower development ceilings.

Down vote. I see no reason to include Rios or McCann.

I'd be interested to hear why. Is it just because they're both low value on here? I get that, but I included Rios in the package going to the A's because I think he has value for them as a potential DH who can fill in at a couple other positions if need be, and I think he can legitimately hit. I threw McCann in on the other side just to add a prospect for a little extra value going back to them. You can exchange him for a bunch of different guys. If you took Rios and McCann out of the deal, I'd still strongly consider it. I just think Rios has more value to the A's than to the Dodgers.

I don't think the A's should be trading prospects at this time. Lux hasn't been the same guy he was when he broke out in 2019. Why? It's been a lost season for Gonsolin as well. But at least those two are healthy enough to play now. Rios is still recovering from shoulder surgery and guys on the shelf are an automatic "No" for me.

Yeah, not unreasonable. It's definitely more of a high risk, high reward option for a Chapman trade, mainly because of health. Each player's status in that regard would weigh heavily. I'm not high on McCann. If there's someone else we can throw in instead, I'm down though. Or, maybe they'd even do it without a throw-in.
