3I like the idea behind this trade, but I don't think the Braves move Pache for Buxton. Buxton is too hurt and inconsistent (like a certain shortstop in that division) to be relied upon, so I think they'd have to hold on to Pache even with Waters in the wings. Plus an outfield of Pache - Buxton - Acuna will never see a ball hit the grass.
Ultimately, I think you are right and the Braves do hold onto Pache and Waters. Feels like they need to make a move like this that would have future value beyond 2021. I'm not sure they can rely on having Acuna at all until post all-star break 2022 given the uncertainty of ACL recovery timelines.
I feel like they can get Buxton without giving up any of their big prospects (Waters Langeliers Pache Harris) if they wanted to.
