Yankees would not give up two third basemen, they would likely keep Andujar

I disagree, because if you're getting Story WITHOUT trading Torres or LeMahieu, you just easily move DJLM to 3B and Gleyber to 2B.

I think this doesn't happen because of payroll alone. The Yankees would only be shedding around $5M in this deal while taking on almost $20M. New York is avoiding the luxury tax threshold this season, likely to reset for next year. This deal sends them over.
