4Mets clearing cash to sign Bauer. Frazier becomes super utility. Pirates grab pitching prospects.
This is god awful. Mets don't need to clear money to sign Bauer. It's already been speculated that they'd be willing to go over the cap.
No way the Mets are trading away Matt Allan and JT Ginn just to dump salary. They're trying to replenish their farm and pitching depth plus they'd be selling low on two prospects who have a shot at becoming top pitching prospects in the game in a few years.
