5This trade obviously assumes that the Indians still wish to compete. They rid a ton of money, which Cohen can absorb, and finally get a good outfielder and a shortstop who can replace Lindor until their top prospect SS Freeman is ready while maybe building value. The pitching prospect is decently regarded and nearly MLB ready, so the Indians can use him in the rotation/ pen depending on how they feel about McKenzie/ Quantrill, or signing another starter with the saved money
I think a possible Nimmo for Lindor trade is fine, I just don't like what Cleveland would be getting in return for Carlos Carrasco.
I think this is the going to be the struggle with any Carrasco trade prediction. He has way more value to Cleveland than what they'll be able to get back purely following valuations here, but he's also a candidate for salary relief (personal circumstances aside). Someone is going to need to compromise significantly for it to happen, and I'm not convinced it's going to be Cleveland since they already are trading Frankie.
Spot on comment.
This also allows the Mets to sign JBJ or Springer
