1Before the news came out about Snell possibly being available due to Tampa wanting to create some flexibility on payroll, I've been sitting on this one. From what I witnessed in the postseason, it seems to me that Tampa is missing another big bat behind the likes of Arozarena, Meadows, Lowe, and a soon to debut Wander Franco. A guy like Pete Alonso would be perfect for them. He's cheap, will be under control until 2025, and he's a Tampa native. For the Mets, they'd be dealing from strength due to the prominence of Dom Smith. They should also be open to taking on Kiermaier's contract, finally filling the hole in CF they've had for years, and having someone to hold it down until Pete Crow-Armstrong is ready. As we know, the FA and trade market for CF's are very slim, and this is an avenue the Mets should take advantage while it's presented in front of them.
