Thanks for posting. This is one is well within range. Note: We docked Arias a bit because he is Rule 5-eligible this year. Clearly if Cleveland is trading for him, they'll add him to their 40, in which case his value will go up to 11.3. That fills the gap here to make this one even closer, to 38.0 going to the Indians.
Also, there's a rumor that the PTBNL is minor-league reliever Matt Waldron, who is not in our system. Typically guys like him who are not considered prospects have a value of either zero or 0.1. In other words, he would not be considered a difference-maker in this deal.
Why did the Padres gut their farm system of all the petty good prospects but not elite? Do you think that the Padres can beat the Dodgers in the 2020 to 2022 seasons? The Dodgers will get hit with large luxury tax penalties, which have crippled my beloved Red Sox. This trade should be a no-brainer for the Indians.
Because their GM, A.J. Preller, was told by his boss to win or else he'd get fired. Plus, he's trading from excess. Too many young players, not enough places to put them. Easily expendable.
He would not say fire him because he’s built a large farm system. The Indians asking price was high they wanted major leaguers in return for Mike Clevinger. He would have not been made available if he didn’t violate health protocols. JohnBlitzer your not an executive who works in baseball. You comment on a lot of trades from different teams
