This is interesting, and I do think Gonzales is an under-the-radar trade candidate. But I don’t think he’s quite the frontline guy the Yankees are looking for this summer. That’s not a bad return for Seattle, but I think Gonzales is pretty likely to go for the higher end of his value (47.9) since the Mariners are under no pressure to trade him now.
With the existence of Severino, are the Yankees really in desperate need of a true ace? But I’m mostly just a bored Mariners fan trying to blow my team up for as many pitching prospects as I can get. I do totally understand your point about the M’s having no pressure to trade him though, and it is a good point.
