This is an interesting trade proposal. The Brewers say yes because of money saved, multiple years of control, and the quality of the pitching returning. The Brewers say no because they believe Burnes and Williams give them the best chance to win in 2023.
Seattle says yes because they believe they have the money to extend Burnes and Burnes and Williams probably give them a better chance to win in 2023. Seattle says no because they are trading 2 good pitchers with low cost and years of control.
I don’t know how I feel about this trade. As a Brewer fan, if this trade was made, I wouldn’t be disappointed and would have to believe it’s the best deal they were offered on trades for Burnes. As a Mariner fan, I’d be excited to have these 2 proven pitchers on the team but wonder if they can be extended.
Yeah, there’s a 0% chance this would happen, but it’s the blueprint for what the Brewers should be looking for for Burnes.
I’ve been a big fan of Munoz for awhile (imho the best reliever in baseball) and really wanted him and Ty France from San Diego, so I was incredibly disappointed when Seattle was able to steal BOTH for the overrated Austin Nola.
