    Accepting this pushes Riley to LF, with Josh at 3B, at least for this year. Could the DH be coming to the NL next year? Josh would slot in there REALLY well. It would help keep him healthy. That would mean slotting Riley back to 3B at that point. I just don’t think that with the huge amount of money that Josh is owed, that the Braves would bite on this. Contract calls for an additional $2M assignment bonus if he gets traded, and the option becomes a mutual option instead of team option for ’24.

      Unless there is a new buyout cost with a mutual option, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The team can still decline it.

      But I agree that the contract cost is a challenge (pending Ozuna stuff).

      I’ve also fiddled with the Braves getting Bryant by taking on Heyward’d contract, but it’s the same issue.

    Twins aren’t giving up their best pitching prospect just to dump Donaldson’s contract AND pick up a Braves bad contract too. No chance
